Like all our recent bottlings of spirits, this is also a single cask and, like some of them, this is also related to a previous U.S. market exclusive bottling in 75 cl of a Malt Whisky of Scottish origin aged in Jerez.
La Bota de Malt Whisky 88 “Overseas” is sourced solely from malted barley distilled in a prestigious distillery in Scotland (hence the “overseas” mention). Its age is estimated at around twelve years of which the past seven have been spent in a single cask coming from a solera of very old dry oloroso sherry of excellent quality. For this bottling we selected a bota showing remarkable character and complexity. It boasts a very Scottish peaty touch that balances beautifully the intense influence of the old sherry cask.
Unrepeatable, of course, as a single cask release, this whisky is unchillfiltered and has—like all other bottlings from Equipo Navazos—no added aromatics, sweeteners or colorants. In fact, it has no additives at all.
